Straylock never sees where you are. Your Mac locks locally. Today we keep one thing: your email, if you join the waitlist.

The short version
- We collect your email address when you join the waitlist, and nothing else about you.
- We use it to tell you about the beta and the launch. We don't sell it or share it.
- The apps use Bluetooth only. They never ask for your location.
- Write to hello@straylock.com and we'll delete your email.
This website and the waitlist
When you join the waitlist we store your email address, the time you signed up, and where you came from if the link said so (for example ?ref=friend). We send you one welcome email, and later an email when beta spots or the launch open. Nothing else is sent.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a visitor is not a bot. Cloudflare receives the signals it needs to do that, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't add cookies of our own.
We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without following you across sites or identifying you.
Where your data lives
Waitlist emails are stored in a Cloudflare database. Cloudflare also delivers our emails and hosts this site, so it handles your data on our behalf.
The Mac and iPhone apps
The iPhone app sends a Bluetooth signal and the Mac app measures how strong it is. The signal readings are used on your Mac to decide when to lock and are not sent to us. The apps don't ask for location, contacts, photos or anything else beyond Bluetooth. We don't use analytics or crash reporting inside the apps.
Beta testers who choose to send us a debug log do so by email. The log holds signal readings and timestamps, and you can read it before you send it.
Accounts and subscriptions (coming later)
When Straylock launches it will offer sign-in and a subscription. At that point we'll hold your email (or Apple's private relay address) and your subscription status, and a payment provider will handle your payment details, which we won't see. We'll update this page before any of that goes live and tell waitlist members what changes. Locking will never depend on an internet connection.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Reply to any email from us or write to hello@straylock.com. We'll keep your email until you ask us to delete it or until we close the waitlist, whichever comes first.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and email the waitlist.
